Approach / Work done

The client faced an urgent need to replatform due to high licensing costs associated with their existing eCommerce solution - costs they deemed unjustifiable given their usage patterns. With the platform’s license set to expire in just 1.5 months, the replatforming project had to be completed on an accelerated timeline from discovery through go-live.

What We Delivered:
  • Conducted expedited discovery and advised the client to utilize a marketplace theme, limiting UI customizations to align with brand standards while staying within scope.
  • Built bespoke features to support complex business logic including personalized product configurations, bundled offerings, and purchase restrictions based on product categories.
  • Migrated a large catalog consisting of hundreds of configurable products with variant relationships and image swatches. Developed a custom transformation script to ensure accurate, lossless data migration.

Project Results

Despite the aggressive timeline, the new BigCommerce site was successfully launched on time and within budget. The migration delivered a more cost-effective and scalable eCommerce solution while preserving critical business functionality - an outcome that initially seemed unachievable under the given constraints.
