B2B merchant selling medical products to doctors and medical practices all across the nation.

Their existing website was based on WooCommerce and did not offer any modern features expected by the customers. That proved to be a major sales obstacle impeding the Merchant’s growth.

Approach / Work done

A strategic decision was made to migrate Merchant’s eCommerce business to BigCommerce to provide access to a modern, feature-rich and flexible platform.

Phase 1 of the project was limited to creation of a React.js-based single-page application (SPA) integrated with the ERP system and providing robust self-service functionality to run various reports and update financial data at an individual order level.

Instead of developing an application based on high-level business requirements documented during the sales cycle, Access Solutions team focused on business requirements discovery sessions and built UI prototypes prior to building the application.

Visual prototypes led the Merchant to making substantial changes to the user flow and their business requirements, and effectively a 100% change to the initial scope of work. 

Access Solutions team worked with the Merchant and the Agency to consult them throughout all steps of this process, helping them make best business decisions and built the application based on the final business requirements.

Project Results

Custom-built application was rolled out the a limited number of key customers and quickly proved to be a successful solution to a major client complaint.

The Merchant eventually rolled out the application to their entire client base and proceeded with phase 2 of the project to transfer all of their eCommerce from WooCommerce to BigCommerce platform.
